Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)

This section outlines the process for handling permanent residence applications submitted by individuals through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) Program.

The RNIP is an economic initiative aimed at attracting foreign nationals who have been recommended by a participating community and secured a job offer within that community's limits. Applicants must meet specific criteria for education, work experience, language skills, and settlement funds, and must also plan to live in the community that recommended them.

To be eligible for the RINP, you must meet the following criteria:

- Community recommendation
- Minimum education requirements
- Minimum language proficiency requirements
- Minimum work experience
- Minimum job offer requirements (see Employment requirements)
- Minimum settlement funds

Intention to Live in the Community

To be eligible for the pilot, you must plan to live permanently in the recommending community.

1. Find a Job: Search for job opportunities in one of the participating communities that are actively seeking foreign workers through the RINP.

2. Job Offer: Secure a job offer from an employer in a participating community. The job must be full-time and permanent.

3. Community Endorsement: Work with your employer and the participating community to obtain a community recommendation or endorsement.

4. Application Process: Once you have a job offer and community endorsement, apply for a temporary work permit (if required) and then apply for permanent residence through the RINP pathway.

To apply for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP), you will need the following documents:

1. Community Recommendation
   - A recommendation from a participating community.

2. Identity and Civil Status Documents
   - Passports or travel documents.
   - Birth certificates.
   - Marriage or divorce certificates, if applicable.

3. Education Documents
   - Educational credentials (degrees, diplomas, certificates).
   - Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report if your education was completed outside Canada.

4. Language Proficiency
   - Language test results (IELTS, CELPIP for English, or TEF, TCF for French) demonstrating you meet the minimum language proficiency requirements.

5. Work Experience
   - Proof of work experience (reference letters, employment contracts, pay stubs).
   - A resume detailing your work history.

6. Job Offer
   - A valid job offer from an employer in the participating community.

7. Proof of Settlement Funds
   - Bank statements or other financial documents showing you meet the minimum settlement fund requirements.

8. Police Certificates
   - Police certificates from every country where you have lived for six months or more since the age of 18.

9. Medical Examination
   - Proof of a medical examination by an IRCC-approved panel physician.

10. Proof of Intent to Reside in the Community
    - Documents showing your intention to reside in the community, such as a rental agreement or property purchase documents.

11. Photographs
    - Recent passport-sized photographs as per IRCC specifications.

12. Additional Forms
    - Completed application forms as required by IRCC.
    - Additional supporting documents as specified by the community or IRCC.


- Ensure all documents are translated into English or French if they are in another language.

Community Selection: Each participating community under the RINP may have specific criteria and job opportunities available. Research and understand the requirements of the community where you plan to apply.
